Session review tells you what happened. Live sessions let you be there while it happens. One member runs the pump and shares a join code, and the instructor and the rest of the class watch the same panel in real time from their own screens. Can I add my department’s actual trucks, hydrants, and water sources?

Yes. That is the point of an organization. An admin builds your apparatus (pump, panel layout, discharges, intakes, tank, and default lines), your hydrants with their real static and residual numbers, your static drafting sources, your nurse units, your line configurations, and your foam eductors and concentrates. Everyone in the organization then trains on that equipment instead of generic defaults, so the reps line up with the gear they run in the field.

Can I see how my firefighters or students are doing?

Yes. Admins can review every member’s training sessions, filter by individual member, and open any session for a full event-by-event timeline with KPIs and pressure charts. Can I match the friction-loss numbers we use locally?

Yes. An admin can set your organization’s hose friction-loss coefficients for each hose size, and every simulation your members run uses those values instead of the system defaults. The coefficients are locked in at the moment a sim starts, so a later edit never changes a run already in progress. This keeps the pump discharge pressure math consistent with the numbers your department trains and tests on.

How do I add my people?

Admins invite members by email from the members page. Each person gets an invite link to join your organization. You can assign admin or member roles, and enable or disable members as your roster changes. Admins manage the equipment and review sessions; members train on the equipment you have built.

Is this for fire departments or for training schools?

Both. A career or volunteer department uses it to get the whole crew reps on its own rigs and water supply without burning apparatus time. A fire academy or training school uses it to put students hands-on with realistic equipment, then review each student’s sessions to grade and coach. The same organization tools serve either one.

Does it run in the browser, or is there something to install?

It runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) on a laptop, desktop, or tablet. There is nothing to install and no app to download. A larger screen is the best experience for operating the pump panel.

How do plans work for an organization?

Can I use this to document training hours for ISO or NFPA?

Yes. Every completed session becomes a training record with the member, the hours (real active time on the panel, with idle time removed), the NFPA 1002 §5.2 objective that was drilled, and the ISO PPC Driver/Operator category. An admin can export those records as CSV or a printable report and retain them for an ISO/FSRS review. Fire Pump Simulator is an independent product and does not issue certifications, but it produces the documentation your department keeps to show driver/operator training was done.

What formats can I export training records in?

Six CSV layouts and a printable report. The CSVs include a generic ISO layout, a per-member summary, a detailed activity log, and best-effort import layouts for Vector/TargetSolutions, ESO, and Firehouse (verify the columns against your account). The printable version prints or saves as a PDF with a training-officer signature line. You can set any date range for annual or quarterly reporting and choose whether to include pass/fail grading.

Is this affiliated with NFPA or IFSTA?

No. Fire Pump Simulator is an independent training product. It references standards like NFPA 1002, 1010, 1962, and 291 because those are what the pump operator role is built on, but the product is not endorsed by, certified by, or affiliated with NFPA or IFSTA.
